3 barbell bench spots, you rarely see that in active sg. 4 adjustable bench as well. And lots of trendmills and machines for u to use. The space isnt too crowded. The location was confusing but nonetheless, it's good
View on GoogleI used to come here quite often but eventually got sick of it because of the overall experience. tl;dr Staff in this gym are sometimes really rude (It depends on the day). Badly maintained equipment. Only one squat rack (with crappy graduations), damaged safety arms. The one squat rack and 4 benches they have are also commonly hogged by some of the regulars who love to leave their towels there and disappear (leaving the equipment underutilised). 1. I've seen staff shout at gym goers (yes shout) for dropping weights, when the lifter clearly had ANC headphones in (literally "OI DONT DROP THE WEIGHTS."). Why not just tap on their shoulder or approach them like at Delta? Like another reviewer said, the staff should really learn from how Delta does it. In Delta, they actually approach you and talk you like a human being. Generally the staff here are way too rude. I've also seen some gym regulars there shout at other people. Sounded like a fight was going to break out. Not a good look. 2. They're busy enforcing all sorts of rules like no leaning against their false wall or no weighted dips. Come on, if someone weighs 60KG and wants to strap in an extra 10KG, how's that not allowed compared to someone who weighs 80KG using the dips machine? Instead of enforcing this, how about enforcing your no hogging the benches and SINGULAR squat rack during busy hours? 3. This is really an extension of the previous point. There are gym regulars there that like to hog the squat rack, leave their towel there, and then just walk around and chat with the other regulars. (I've also seen the same guy hog benches and squat racks for 5-12 minutes between set). Man isn't even around for me to ask to share. Somehow the staff are okay with it. 4. The one squat rack they have is REALLY badly maintained. The rubberised top layer of the safety arm was broken off in quite a few places. Not sure if they've replaced it since I last went. But it was wrecked for quite a while. I will mention one plus side: Despite what I've said about the overall environment and the hoggers, I have to say that most of the regulars there are still quite friendly. The ones who don't hog are typically happy to share equipment (you'll see this happen a lot in the machine section, not the free weights section). So if you're not into free weights, it's probably still worth going for. Never going here again after I realised that Delta was just miles above. I'm willing to take a few more train stops because that's just how different these two branches are.
View on GoogleGym is relatively spacious as it is divided into half when u entered the entrance. Will b quite packed if go at peak hrs. Staffs r quite nice n do their job. There is once I noticed a lady staff informing a grp of users not to take vid in a gym, it is intrusion on privacy. Well done 👍. Some users need to learn. Also would appreciate more staffs do patrolling to educate hoggers. Toilets n showers facilities r outside. Quite a nice gym overall
View on GoogleWell-equipped and well-maintained equipment, friendly staff and all the areas of workouts are covered, what more you need in a Gym, if we can manage time well and be a little considerate, it should serve the purpose. I highly recommend an active sg gym if you want to avoid a colossal membership fee at private gyms and take full advantage of the facility for such an affordable price.
View on GoogleStandard public gym split across 3 areas: 1. Mezzanine level for cardio (treadmills...) 2. Cardio room on right side with treadmills, bikes, .. 3. Machines and free weights on left side as you enter, with a small stretching area. Good variety of modern equipment. There is also a hi-tech machine for your overall testing: simple test is about 5 mins, comprehensive one is 20+ mins Changing and shower (cold) are shared facilities with the badminton/table-tennis users. (Note: not so modern) C-19 impact: alternate machines are not available in the gym (3) for use because the overall space is limited. Access: the gym is located at the back of the badminton courts, so keep walking from the entrance all the way to the back.
