I have much to thank for a pre-natal personal trainer, Avan! I’ve decided to engage him for my 2nd pregnancy after experiencing the loss of muscles and strength from my 1st pregnancy. I was initially mildly worried that I will be too weak to even begin something like while being pregnant or worse, if it affects my baby. But Avan was very knowledgeable with pre-natal training, shared a lot of tips and knowledge about how to keep my core tight, most importantly, protect the baby during the sessions. He adjusted the intensity based on my progress and how my body felt each session, and had an incredible capability in teaching me how to engage the right muscle groups for each exercise. It’s one story to tell you what muscle to use for an exercise, and a totally different thing being able to exactly tell you HOW to engage that muscle in your body. He also focused on dynamic moves and strength training to support day-to-day movement and lifestyle. Truly holistic wealth and fitness💪🏻 I am thankful for this experience and the knowledge I’ve gained from it. Would recommend Avan 1000%!
View on GoogleThe gym has clean equipment, friendly staff, and great class instructors. I was diagnosed with osteopenia in my hips over a year ago, and with the help of my personal trainer, Avan Kua, my osteopenia is now gone and I’ve gained 8.2% muscle. He’s patient, really checks your form, and just knows his stuff when it comes to training.
View on GoogleDo not recommend. Gym charged me extra and has not been replying my emails about it. Was charged $200+ while waiting a month for their reply, and then an additional $50+ when they mistakenly unfroze my account even though it was supposed to be on a freeze. Although the gym facilities itself and the instructors are great, the customer service and management team's way of handling issues is terrible. They don't reply at all. No comments about VA at Paya Lebar as I go to the one at Marina One. Am only complaining about their management team and customer service.
View on GoogleDisappointed with the front desk service. Virgin Active positions itself as a premium gym, and while the equipment and range of classes are impressive, the front desk staff seriously let the experience down. I encountered rude and unprofessional behaviour that doesn’t reflect the high standards the brand promotes. For a gym of this calibre, better staff selection and customer service training are definitely needed.
View on GoogleI have seen many low rating reviews about arriving late & being denied entry to classes. As a regular, I really appreciate the rules. This is what differentiates VA from other gyms. Being on time is a way of respecting others. If you are exploring this gym or coming for trial, please make sure to arrive early (at least 30minutes) for any administrative processes, getting familiar with the gym & giving the instructor enough time to set you up. If the class has 20-30pax, a late comer is disruptive to the whole class. Body pump class requires setup of equipment. When you arrive on the dot, that means you are late. If the door is already closed, please do not enter the class.
