Did about 6 classes here. The naming and description of the classes were terrible, BLAST,SWEAT, REFORM etc. I'm not the only student who was terribly confused to what this is. Since it was a pilates studio, youd expect to be using the reformer but it was doing HIIT workouts with the reformer to stretch? Additionally, theres 1 instructor to like 25 students, there barely any space to stretch, your arm will hit the next student without much effort. I've been doing pilates for years, so I could follow and do my own variations, but there were many who were new and I could see get seriously injured, I had to help the other student with their safety while the instructor just read off her ipad & gestures to the TV on the walls to just follow the movements. Unlike other studios where i did a b2b class, you would expect some variation to the movements, but not at FS8! They load the same youtube video THE WHOLE WEEK. Luckily I was only on the new launch trial, and would NEVER advocate for this horror of a lazy and studio that disregards student safety and body control. This is so NOT pilates its a boot camp style workout.
View on GoogleSmall studio as what other reviewers has mentioned. Instructors is a hit or miss, not much correction given, coupled by the lack of mirror and cramped space, it’s hard to follow. My instructor doesn’t seem to be following the steps on the screen. So the screen wasn’t particularly helpful. The app is so poorly designed. It is so difficult to navigate to book the class, see how many balance credit I have and the expiry. Most importantly, the lack of transparency in cancellation policy. I can’t seem to find it anywhere in the app and even website. After digging then I found a post on instagram stating the cancellation policy. I do appreciate the customer service on WhatsApp though slow.
View on GoogleIt’s a new studio with a fresh concept, supported by a TV-guided format that’s somewhat reminiscent of their parent company, F45 — but with a Pilates twist. They offer an introductory package, which may not be the most competitive on the market, but it really depends on what you’re looking for. There’s a nice variety of classes to choose from, so you’re unlikely to get bored. Before starting, I received friendly WhatsApp messages and email reminders, which felt very personalised and thoughtful — a lovely touch that made the onboarding experience smoother. That said, when classes get busy, it can be a little challenging to receive enough instructor attention. The equipment is quite close together, and since there are no mirrors to check your form, it might not be the easiest setup for beginners who are still getting comfortable with the Pilates-HIIT combination. There’s also no shower available at the studio, although this was clearly communicated beforehand, so there were no surprises.
View on GooglePros: - Intro pack was attractively priced. Cons: - Cramped studio, with no mirrors to check your form. - No shower facilities, despite FS8 website stating that all studios offer shower facilities. - Classes vary in difficulty, but a common issue across all classes is that there’s very little time between sets (10 secs) for the instructor to explain the next exercise before the countdown timer starts again. Do not expect to learn proper form here. - Rather unkempt for a new studio (straps strewn on the floor, not all the springs were on for safety at the start of the class). - Miscommunication by studio on intro pack validity with lamentably slow service recovery. Very unfortunate.
View on GoogleNewly opened. Studio is small, packed side by side with machines. To illustrate how cramped it is, I couldn’t do planks on the mats without touching the walls. No mirrors at all. No toilets. Only 2 curtain changing rooms. Water cooler is short of water by the 8.15pm class. Instructor was changed without notice.
