Compare Singapore gym prices by access, eligibility and total commitment. A single entry, an off-peak pass, a recurring gym membership and a class pack buy different things. The lowest headline amount is useful only if it covers the visits you can actually make.

The official examples below were checked on 1 October 2026. They are starting points for a shortlist, not a market average or a promise of your final quote. For a branch-priced plan, ask that branch for the amount and terms you would sign.

What official prices can you compare?

Fitness First's amounts are advertised starting rates. Obtain a complete quote for your selected plan and club. A PURE drop-in is not a monthly rate, and a lower-priced specialist class pack should not be treated as unlimited gym access.

Which plans need a branch quote?

Anytime Fitness's Singapore FAQ directs membership pricing and terms to the home club. Snap's local membership FAQ likewise says rates and options vary by independently owned club. Request quotes for the branches you would actually use instead of applying a price from another location.

For PURE's regular memberships, use its published access options to specify the locations and services you want, then request a quote. For a boutique studio, ask for the exact class allowance, booking conditions and expiry. A class-based plan needs its own comparison with the sessions you intend to attend.

Keep the quote dated. Record whether it is a corporate, referral, age-specific or introductory offer, and whether you meet the conditions. An attractive rate that requires an unavailable benefit is not a usable option.

When does an ActiveSG pass beat single entries?

For an adult paying the S$2.50 citizen or permanent-resident entry rate, six entries total S$15 and twelve total S$30. Those are arithmetic break-even points against the one-month off-peak and peak examples above, before any applicable credits or concessions.

The off-peak comparison works only when the visits fall inside the permitted hours. If you usually train after work, do not count those sessions toward the off-peak pass. For a mixed routine, add any entries you would buy outside the pass conditions.

Use your actual calendar for the coming month. Mark travel, late workdays and other dates when you are unlikely to attend. Then compare the relevant pass with single entries for the remaining visits. Check opening hours and any closure notice before purchasing.

The ActiveSG guide explains entry, pass and capacity checks in more detail. A public gym that meets your needs can be a useful baseline when assessing a more expensive membership.

How do you calculate the full commitment?

Add every required payment across the minimum term: recurring fees, joining or access charges, mandatory extras and any non-refundable initial payment. Subtract only discounts confirmed in the written quote. Keep a refundable deposit separate because it affects cash due now even if it may later be returned.

Ask how the billing schedule works. A four-week payment recurs 13 times over 52 weeks; a calendar-month payment normally recurs 12 times a year. Comparing the two displayed amounts directly can hide a meaningful difference.

Worked examples only: hypothetical quotes for the calculation
ExampleCalculationCommitment before optional services
Plan AS$100 each calendar month for 12 months, plus S$100 required joining feeS$1,300
Plan BS$95 every four weeks for 52 weeks, plus S$80 required access feeS$1,315

Plan B's smaller recurring amount does not make its example annual commitment cheaper. Ask the gym to show the complete debit schedule rather than trying to infer it from a banner.

What does each usable visit cost?

Divide the full cost for the period by the visits you realistically expect during that same period. Use a conservative visit count first, then calculate a second case if you attend more often. This shows how much your decision depends on a routine you have not yet established.

For example, a hypothetical S$1,200 annual commitment costs S$25 per visit at 48 visits, or S$12.50 at 96 visits. Those figures describe usage of the same contract; they do not make either level of attendance guaranteed.

For a prepaid class pack, count the credits you can use before expiry and check how many credits each activity consumes. In the Fitness First comparison, FITPASS is treated separately for this reason. An unused credit does not become better value because it came from a larger pack.

Which terms can change the decision?

  • Access: named clubs, permitted hours, included classes and booking limits.
  • Renewal: what happens when the minimum term ends and whether the price changes.
  • Freeze: eligible reasons, fees and whether the commitment or expiry extends.
  • Cancellation: the required notice, submission method and final payment.
  • Prepayment: the amount tied up in advance and the applicable refund or transfer terms.

Put one likely disruption through the contract: a month away, a workplace move or a timetable change. Ask the gym to explain the result in writing. A low monthly equivalent may be a poor fit if it requires a commitment longer than your plans allow.

Finally, trial the practical routine. Check the equipment or class, travel and changing time, and whether you could repeat the visit next week. Compare the full quote only after confirming the access is useful.

Record up to three options in the gym membership comparison worksheet. The membership tips guide provides the questions to take to each club before signing.
